CENTER FOR SCIENTIFIC STUDIES IN THE ARTSA COLLABORATION BETWEEN NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY AND THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO

Gianluca Pastorelli studied Natural Sciences at the University of Milan, Italy, where he obtained his MSc in Geoarchaeology and Archaeometry. He was awarded a PhD in Conservation Science by the University of Bologna, Italy, after completing a project on the degradation of archaeological Baltic amber at the National Museum of Denmark. Before joining the Center for Scientific Studies in the Arts, Gianluca held a research assistant appointment at the University College London, UK, and worked as a freelance consultant, focusing his research on the characterization of physicochemical properties of polymer materials.
